Meal Planning & Prepping Tips

  1. Use the Don’t Panic cookbooks mentioned above and pick a day to prepare multiple meals to go into your freezer. You can do this on your own or invite 2-3 friends to do it with you.
  2. Look at sales at your grocery store(s) first, then pick recipes around what’s on sale.
  3. Allow yourself 4-5 hours for planning your menu and grocery shopping.
  4. Carefully go through your recipes to create a shopping list based on the categories and layout in your store (ex. put all produce together, freezer items last, etc.)
  5. Allow about 12 hours for a meal-prepping day to prepare meals for the week or for days when you’re short on time.
  6. If you have people doing it with you, create an assembly line of sorts. Have someone chopping veggies, someone browning meat, someone peeling potatoes, etc.
  7. Label your meals to include the cooking directions.
