Meal Planning & Prepping Tips
- Use the Don’t Panic cookbooks mentioned above and pick a day to prepare multiple meals to go into your freezer. You can do this on your own or invite 2-3 friends to do it with you.
- Look at sales at your grocery store(s) first, then pick recipes around what’s on sale.
- Allow yourself 4-5 hours for planning your menu and grocery shopping.
- Carefully go through your recipes to create a shopping list based on the categories and layout in your store (ex. put all produce together, freezer items last, etc.)
- Allow about 12 hours for a meal-prepping day to prepare meals for the week or for days when you’re short on time.
- If you have people doing it with you, create an assembly line of sorts. Have someone chopping veggies, someone browning meat, someone peeling potatoes, etc.
- Label your meals to include the cooking directions.
