The Addiction No One Talks About with Kristy Wegner
In this raw and eye-opening episode, Kristy Wegner shares her powerful journey through food addiction, emotional eating, and the hidden battles she carried for years. Growing up as a missionary’s daughter, Kristy knew faith well — but financial stress and childhood comfort-seeking led her into a cycle she couldn’t break on her own.
Kristy opens up about the moment she realized food had become her escape, how God met her in the middle of addiction, and the life-changing habits that keep her grounded today. If you’ve ever struggled with unhealthy coping mechanisms, emotional eating, or finding your identity outside of Christ, this conversation will hit home.
This episode is packed with hope, honesty, and practical truth — a reminder that God can break chains we don’t even know how to name.

Tips for Handling Stress in a Healthier Way
Here are some practical daily tips from Krsitine for handling the stressors of life in a healthy way, so food addiction (or any other issue) doesn’t derail your day or your relationships.
- Have a food plan.
- Get enough sleep.
- Have a rhythm. Go to sleep and wake up at the same time each day.
- Exercise.
- Get outside.
- Read God’s Word daily and spend time in prayer.
- Call an accountability partner.
- Connect with other people who can encourage you.
- Practice gratitude and praise.
- Keep your eyes off yourself and on Him through praise! This helps you avoid the trap of focusing inward and internal-shaming. Instead, it allows us to focus on Him leads to gratitude.
Rest is a beautiful thing and God designed us to need that…And Jesus is that Sabbath rest. I cannot even imagine dealing with any addiction or challenge in life without the peace we have in Jesus.
~ Kristy Wegner
